| Using individual skins allow you to change the way the game looks (and, as a side effect, I'll save some server traffic). Anyone who wants to offer his skin on this page should mail it to admin@icewars.de, including a small (200x150) and a large (1024x786) screenshot. (Please keep the files small). |

| 1. download skin |
| 2. Unpack skin into any local directory |
| 3. Enter the path where you unpacked the skin to into the skin preferences. The skin path must match the following example:
file://localhost/DRIVE:/SKIN PATH
(Note that all \ have to be entered as /, without / at the end. E.g.: file://localhost/c:/icewarsskin |
| 3.1 For people using Linux I think I won't have to explain more ;) |
| 3.2. If you want to have your skin online, the path have to tpoint to http://www.your-domain.net/skinpath |
| 4. Save prefs and you're done. |
| 5. Should you access Icewars from any other computer than your own (and the skin is not on webspace), check the "use server skin" box on login. |

| General usage details |
| Enter the path as follows (without ending /!)
file://localhost/c:/skinpath (Windows) or
file://localhost/skinpath (others).
As an alternativ, you may provide a web address (http://www.ypurdomain.net/skinpath) |
| Local skins do not work in Opera (from V7 on). Workaround: Put the skin on webspace. |
| Local skins will not work proper with mozilla based browsers, as they will not read the local CSS files. This may be set somewhere in the browsers options but is not advised because of security problems. Workaround: Put the skin on webspace. |
